Hi there, I'm Joshua Weimer.

About Me

I'm a recent graduate from the University of California San Diego, where I earned my bachelors in political science and data analytics. With a deep fascination for data science, I am driven to apply my skills in ways that generate meaningful social outcomes. Currently, I work as a data science consultant at TheMathCompany, where I apply my skills to drive impactful solutions for clients.

During my undergraduate years, I collaborated on a research project examining the effects of U.S. military intervention on Afghan quality of life with Professor Michael Joseph. I also developed web apps for the UCSD Data & GIS Lab which aggregated actionable personal insights and automated external reporting of library service statistics data.

In my freetime I love to play chess and train for triathlons. I also have organized and competed in Rubik’s Cube competitions and achieved a ranking of 11th in the world (more on that below!).

Competitive Rubik's Cube Solving

In my freetime you can usually find me solving Rubik's Cubes. I've placed third at US Nationals, achieved a ranking of 11th in the world, and started a YouTube channel to teach advanced techniques. You can find my official results here. I've also worked with the World Cube Association to organize official competitions such as the Southern Championships.

Here is a video of me memorizing and solving a Rubik's Cube blindfolded in 19 seconds.
